Abstract:
Because the line of Tian-mei to Guan-wu electricity transmission towers project is situated in steep mountain areas without roads or shortcuts, it depends primarily on cargo ropeway to carry machines or materials for construction. Meanwhile, due to the lacking of suitable spots in construction site for setting up ready-mixed concrete plant, alternatives are adopted to find nearby qualified ready-mixed concrete plant supplying concrete to construction site by cargo ropeway.
To prevent concrete initial setting through carriage by cargo ropeway, it is necessary to add adequate retarding admixture in the concrete mixture to control of setting and to permit proper placement and finishing. As a result, relying on strict supervision on quality of concrete and time of transporting, concrete compressive strengths and overall concrete quality met the concrete specification requirements in of this project.
