Abstract:
The appropriateness of the current design specifications for minimum shear reinforcement and maximum nominal shear strength for prestressed concrete members is evaluated through the use of the University of Texas’ Prestressed Concrete Shear Database (UTPCSDB). Based on experimental evidence, new design provisions for minimum shear reinforcement and maximum nominal shear strength are proposed.
