Abstract:
The resistance to chloride penetration is one of the most important measures of the durability of concrete. Results are presented from a study of the chloride resistance of concrete with high-volume slag cement at early ages. Charge passed (ASTM C1202) and chloride penetration coefficient (NT BUILD 443) were studied at early ages by heat curing to a maximum temperature of 75°C. The results show a good correlation between charge passed and chloride penetration coefficient between standard curing and heat curing.
