Abstract:
Establishing ACI chapters internationally is one of the best ways for ACI to fulfill its global mission. Chapters also facilitate the development of solutions to local problems related to concrete construction by creating forums where engineers, architects, contractors, materials suppliers, academics, and government officials can work together. Establishing chapters in developing countries is also an effective way to transfer concrete knowledge from the developed to the developing countries of the world. A case in point is the ACI Ethiopia Chapter, the latest international chapter, established in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on December 30, 2009.
