Abstract:
There are two tanks at BP Oil's 550-acre Toledo, Ohio, refinery which, if everything functions according to plan, probably never will be filled. The refining company is finishing construction of the two giant below-grade reinforced concrete tanks to contain excess stormwater should the area become victim to heavy amounts of precipitation, such as what could be expected in a 25-year-storm event. The $18 million cast-in-place reinforced concrete project is one of the largest construction projects in Northwestern Ohio in recent years.
