Abstract:
More than 100 reinforced concrete structures in the Arabian Gulf have been surveyed by the author's firm in the last few years. The chloride content results have been reviewed in a previous paper, as have the sulFate content results and the results for carbonation and depths of cover. The aim of this paper is to draw conclusions from the results of these extensive surveys which can be used in designing and constructing new reinforced concrete structures for maximum durability.
