Abstract:
Part 1 of this paper discusses the extent of use of prestressed concrete in U. S. nuclear power plants and the evolution of large prestressing systems and corrosion-inhibiting materials. It also describes the major problems encountered with prestressed concrete construction at nuclear power plants in the United States.
