Abstract:
Predicting the long-term behavior and performance of concrete structures has always been elusive and difficult. Interest in predicting remaining service life of structures has heightened in recent years, especially in the nuclear power industry. Methods and tools to predict remaining life, both at the design phase and in service, are currently quite limited. Article provides an overview of several recent applications of life prediction technology and identifies the research needs for technological improvements.
