Abstract:
Presents the latest (1991) results on the concrete used to construct two high-strength concrete columns in 1984. This concrete was previously tested and examined under the scanning electron microscope (SEM) in 1986 and 1988. Compressive strength testing, chloride ion permeability, and a detailed microstructural analysis of cores taken from one of the columns were performed. Findings reveal the concrete has maintained strength and durability with no evidence of deterioration over the 7 years since its construction.
