Abstract:
Describes a novel large-diameter reinforced microcrete pipe that has been studied, tested, and produced in Italy. Called distributed reinforcement pipe (DRP), it has been employed successfully in pipelines ranging from 600 to 1400 mm in diameter; with working pressures between 600 and 1200 kPa. The manufacturing procedure involves projecting a rich microcrete over a rotating mandrel while placing thin wire circumferential and longitudinal reinforcement.
