Abstract:
Discusses developments in the field of very high-strength concrete (VHSC) (compressive strength 70 MPa or higher) in Ontario. Emphasizes the need for high standards of quality control in the production and testing of VHSC. Recommends that concrete suppliers and testing laboratories be prequalified prior to bidding on VHSC work, and suggests guidelines for prequalification procedures.
