Abstract:
Presents the results of a pilot study on concrete reinforced with continuous carbon fibers woven into a three-dimensional fabric and impregnated with epoxy resin. Three concrete beams reinforced with the epoxy impregnated three dimensional continuous carbon fiber fabric were tested in bending and shear. The behavior and strength of these beams are described and compared with similar properties of conventionally reinforced concrete beams.
