Abstract:
Reviews the progress made in the New York City Transit System in concrete construction and rehabilitation of various structures to maintain their serviceability. Recently there has been a major emphasis on rehabilitation to solve the problems of age and serviceability of structures. New techniques are being applied using technological advances to insure complete public safety and economical costs. Many problems, such as aging, deterioration, corrosion, compatibility of different concretes, etc., still remain to be addressed and need attention.
