Abstract:
The Boston Harbor Project will be a massive endeavor. An 11-year, multibillion dollar project to control harbor pollution, new primary and secondary waste-water treatment plants able to handle more than a billion gallons of sewage daily will ultimately be completed. Components of the Deer Island plant will be stacked sedimentation tanks, 16 sludge digesters, pumping stations, screening and disinfection facilities, and support buildings. To accommodate all of the concrete construction, a concrete batch plant was constructed on the island.
