Abstract:
Generally, commercially available fiber-based reinforcement for concrete is made of carbon, aramid, or glass filament fibers impregnated in a resin. Its resistance to corrosion makes it ideal for reinforcing concrete exposed to high saline environments. However, when using FRP reinforcement in prestressed concrete, particularly post-tensioned concrete, the main challenge is to enlist an anchorage system that will insure full development of the reinforcement strength. 140-493
