Abstract:
Discusses tests evaluating the effects of exposure on reinforced concrete beams with different types of bar deformations and positions and the effects of prestress level, creep, type of tensioning steel, and relaxation of the tensioning force. Beams were exposed to twice-daily tide reversals and to severe winters for a number of years. Two series of tensile crack exposure tests as well as pretensioned and post-tensioned prestressed concrete beam exposure tests were performed.
