Abstract:
Discusses the problem of concrete deterioration in Abu Dhabi resulting from reinforcing steel corrosion due to the humid, chloride-laden environment and high chloride levels in aggregates used for concrete construction. Describes the selection and installation of a cathodic protection system during construction to protect new buildings.
