Abstract:
Describes the restoration alternatives for a deteriorated post-tensioned one-way parking garage deck slab supported by a post-tensioned precast beam system. Presents the review process appropriate for considering the merits of each alternative. Explains the various factors involved and gives a limited review of the design process and implementation considerations. Describes the construction process in a step-by-step sequence beginning with detensioning the floor slab and ending with existing P/T cable prestressing and floor slab reconstruction. Briefly discusses problems encountered during the construction process.
