Abstract:
Constructed in the early 1950s, Chief Joseph Dam is a hydropower dam located near Bridgeport, Wash., on the Columbia River. In the 1970s the reservoir pool was raised and the spillway structure joints began to leak excessively. Several repair methods were attempted, including wood particles, remote-controlled underwater joint sealing, and waterstop effectiveness repair.
