Abstract:
A formula to calculate losses of prestress from the CEB-FIP Model Code for Concrete Structures is extended to account for the presence of reinforcing steel. It is thus possible to calculate stress redistributions due to shrinkage and creep of concrete in uncracked partially prestressed concrete sections fairly easily. The formula is applied to two typical examples.
