Abstract:
Changes in force due to friction in unbonded tendons were observed in two-span continuous post-tensioned girders at various stages in the stressing and loading history. Following transfer, different holding forces existed at the ends of each of the two girders tested (one with greater span/depth ratio than the other). This difference remained after a cyclic loading program (including post-cracking) of several thousand repetitions of service load patterns.
