Abstract:
Durability of concrete is a critical concern in the Arabian Gulf (Persian Gulf) region where environmental conditions are harsh. Extreme temperatures, both hot and cold, high humidity, and chloride and sulfide contaminants threaten durability of concrete structures. A condition survey of fifty Kuwaiti buildings provides data. The data include the smoke damage effects of the war-time oil well fires.
