Abstract:
Paper argues that it is feasible to operate with simplified deflection and cracking rules in the design of partially prestressed, cracked members. Such rules are derived and compared with more rigorous calculation methods and test measurements. The simplified formulas are concluded to give acceptable results for engineering purposes.
