Abstract:
Steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC) has demonstrated valuable structural properties that should be formally acknowledged in building code design formulas. This paper reviews existing English-language literature on torsional performance of SFRC, with and without conventional reinforcement, and proposes design formulas for torsion following the format currently used in ACI 318. As a result of laboratory experience and the conservativeness of the proposed modifications, the new formulas for tension design should be acceptable.
