Abstract:
Three commercial corrosion inhibiting admixtures were evaluated in simulated concrete pore water and in concrete. For the solution testing, corrosion protection performance was based on the amount of visually observed corroded surface area. The condition of concrete specimens was assessed by obtaining chloride concentrations, corrosion potentials, and corrosion rates. One of the admixtures increased the chloride corrosion threshold limit in concrete.
