Abstract:
The potential application of rice husk ash (RHA) in portland cement concrete has received attention recently, primarily for economic, environmental, and energy considerations, while the use of roller compacted concrete (RCC) can save time and reduce capital costs in dam construction and other concrete applications. Details of a laboratory study of RCC mixes containing different proportions of RHA with different water contents are resented. It is shown that RCC mixes containing up to 50 percent RHA can produce an acceptable compressive strength of about 45 MPa (6530 psi). 233-392
