Abstract:
Presents results of pullout tests performed on epoxy-coated and uncoated bars at high temperatures. No. 6 bars (19 mm) were embedded in 56 x 56 x 7-in. (1.4 x 1.4 x .018-m) slabs. The embedment length was 8 in. (203 mm). Pullout tests were performed at temperatures of 230, 300, 500, and 700 F (110, 150, 260, and 370 C). It was determined that the epoxy-coated bars heated to these temperatures can develop stresses greater than their nominal yield stress (which is temperature dependent) without pulling out.
