Abstract:
The effect of using chert in concrete is investigated. The short and long terms according to ASTM C 289-71 and ASTM C 227-71, respectively, are used to test wadi aggregate and wadi aggregate mixed with different percentages of limestone to see if they contain any harmful effect on concrete. It is shown by the long-term test (ASTM C 227-71) that wadi aggregate containing chert from the Jafer area has no harmful effect on concrete, while mixing this wadi aggregate with different percentages of limestone increases the harmful effect on concrete.
