Abstract:
The colors in integrally colored concrete are durable and will last as long as the concrete itself. Color additives with mineral oxide pigments have demonstrated satisfactory performance on buildings, pavements and structures with over 25 years exposure in a variety of environments. Compatible with all types of concrete, colors enhance the aesthetic potential of concrete construction. Recent developments in color additives and coloring systems have simplified the coloring of concrete. By understanding the nature of concrete colors, quality control procedures for mixing, placing, and curing, and how they are affected by age, weather, and wear, designers can use colored concrete with confidence.
