Abstract:
We are developing plans for producing precast concrete guard booths. Normalweight concrete walls for the booths can be no more than 6 to 8 in. (150 to 200 mm) thick because mass is an issue, but the walls must be able to resist penetration of .30 caliber armor-piercing bullets. We’re having trouble finding information about the testing needed to show that the wall resistance will be adequate. Are there standard tests for resistance of concrete to penetration by bullets or are there laboratories that perform such tests?
