Abstract:
Engineered wood has been developed in response to increasing demand for high-quality lumber. By using adhesives and veneers, the forest products industry can produce large timbers using relatively small trees. These products use wood much more efficiently than sawn lumber, and because they are produced under controlled factory conditions, they can offer dependable quality. The available types of engineered wood are described.
