Abstract:
Although formwork systems may not be in the forefront of a structural engineer’s mind during the conceptual stages of a project, this is the time when considering the formwork system can produce the biggest benefits. The author suggests a few items to keep in mind during the preliminary design stages, when compatibility between a building’s structural and forming system can best be optimized.
