Abstract:
Compared to metallic connectors, carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) connectors used to connect the interior and exterior wythes of precast concrete sandwich panels have the advantage of improving thermal efficiency while eliminating corrosion, reducing cover requirements, and creating lighter panels. To test the performance of connectors made of CFRP grids, small sandwich panel specimens were tested by applying shear between the inner and outer wythes. The results of an analytical model of the test specimen are also presented.
