Abstract:
A comprehensive field research program is in progress to evaluate practical aspects of the behavior of conventional and experimental shotcretes. The experimental shotcretes are regulated-set shotcrete and steel fiber shotcrete, both of which have been considered promising for several years (Parker, et al 1971). Steel fiber shotcrete contains millions of one ince (25 mm) long steel needle-like fibers which provide improved flexural strength and considerable post-crack resistance.
