Abstract:
Recently, there has been an increasing interest in the properties of concrete at ages less than 28 days. Two factors contributing to this redirection of interest are the fast-paced construction schedules that expose concrete to significant structural loads at early ages, and the recognition that long-term performance of concrete is greatly affected by early-age history. A summary of the Engineering Foundation Conference is given to improve understanding and appreciation of the properties of concrete at early ages.
