Abstract:
With the exception of replacing optical levels with laser levels, the placement and strike-off of concrete for elevated floor slabs has remained virtually unchanged for 3 decades. Wet screeding, with its inherent low level of control over elevation and levelness, continues to be the norm. The new laser-controlled device descibed in this article permits the construction of slabs using wet screeds while easily achieving floor levelness (FL) values between 20 and 35.
