Abstract:
The historical concrete buildings of Shanghai give the city a unique image that reflects the architectural heritage of the world. The first boom in concrete construction was from 1920 to 1937, with many modern, tall buildings constructed using the latest technology. Recently, after the opening of the Pudong New District in 1990, huge concrete structures of all types have been built at a rapid pace. In this article, several of the important historical and modern concrete buildings in Shanghai are introduced.
