Abstract:
The truss model, developed to determine the ultimate strength of slab-column connections, is successfully used to predict the failure conditions of 43 edge column-flat slab connections without shear reinforcement reported in the literature. These tests consist of both single and double-column tests by eight separate investigators using a variety of loading techniques and boundary conditions. The effects of different testing procedures and the importance of the placing of reinforcement are demonstrated.
