Abstract:
It is not the purpose of this paper to attempt to determine and state for the best method of calculation and construction for reinforced-concrete foundations for chimneys, either reinforced concrete or brick, but rather to call attention to some of the more common defects in such designs, with the hope that those engaged almost exclusively in this department of engineering may give us some rational and consistent method of design.
