Abstract:
On most projects, the designer must review the contractor-submitted schedule to determine if the planned approach to the construction will meet the design intent and contractual requirements. Although the designer does not generate the schedule, he/she must review and approve the contractor’s schedule to complete the project. Thus, the designer must be able to identify any potential problems that might develop during its implementation. To help the designer understand, use, and analyze the schedule effectively, a basic discussion of the scheduling process is presented.
