Abstract:
This article discusses some of the difficult choices a designer has to make in designing end columns in reinforced concrete frames. The idea of the article is not necessarily to advocate any particular approach, but to open up the various issues to discussion so that a general consensus might develop among designers. The authors expressly solicit discussion from experienced designers.
