Abstract:
During the design of the Rip Bridge a low cost model was fabricated and tested in the design office. The model provided some answers which the analytical models were unable to provide. The model, an interesting and valuable part of the design process, was eventually superseded as the design progressed into the modified structure configuration which was finally built.
