Abstract:
This article describes a study in which five bridges were strengthened with five variations of composite technology to study design, construction, and load rating. The bridges will be monitored semiannually over 5 years, including repeated load testing, to study the long-term performance of these technologies. Knowledge obtained from this study will be used to draft specifications for future bridge strengthening projects.
