Abstract:
Oceans make up 80 percent of the surface of the earth. With the world's ever increasing demand for resources, this vast area of our glode is beginning to receive more and more attention for matters other than fishing and navigation. Approximately 22 percent of the world's oil and gas comes from reservoirs under the sea. Seabed mining for aggregates and mineral nodules is steadily increasing. With this attention it becomes necessary to provide support structures for the development of these resources. These structures may be movable, such as a ship, or permanently fixed. Most importantly, these structures can be built out of concrete.
