Abstract:
One of the most complex and expensive highway projects ever undertaken in the southeast United States is currently in progress near Atlanta, Ga. When completed, the new interchange at Interstates 85 and 285 is expected to smooth the flow of traffic to and from Atlanta's fast-growing northeren suburbs. This article details the design considerations fo the project and outlines how computers are being used by the contractor to monitor progress and costs.
