Abstract:
This article reviews research currently underway to study the feasibility of using wireless nano- and micro-electromechanical systems devices to measure fresh concrete properties, corrosion potential, and structural degradation. These devices may help improve the understanding of the behavior of concrete during mixing and curing, as well as after the structure is put into service.
