Abstract:
Flowing concrete (FC) is generally characterized as high-slump (>7.5 in.) concrete that is cohesive, exhibits minimal bleeding and segregation, and has normal set and strength development characteristics. Since 2000, the Florida Department of Transportation has evaluated and used high-performance FC in precast/prestressed concrete beams. An overview of lessons learned is presented.
