Abstract:
Fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP), particularly those incorporating carbon fibers (CFRPs), elements loaded in tension tend to be linearly elastic up to fracture and FRP elements loaded in shear can have low stiffness and strength. The goal of the present investigation is to examine the shear responses of box beams with CFRP reinforcing. We present the shear cracking load and ultimate load-carrying capacity of the tested box beams.
