Abstract:
An experimental investigation of the effects of varying latex contents on the properties of latex-modified carbon fiber reinforced cement is reported. Latex-binder ratios were 0, 5, 10, and 15 percent. Effects on flow, compressive strength, flexural strength, impact resistance, and tensile behavior were investigated. Results showed that latex increases the flexural strength and impact resistance of carbon fiber reinforced cement. Furthermore, lower latex contents increase tensile toughness with insignificant effect on tensile strength of carbon fiber cement. With 15 percent latex, tensile strength increases significantly while tensile toughness decreases. 193-396
