Abstract:
Procedures for the initiation, writing, and approval of documents by ACI Innovation Task Groups (ITGs) are described. ITGs operate under the TAC Technology Transfer Committee of the American Concrete Institute. An Innovation Task Group’s role is to evaluate new technology and, if appropriate, transfer that technology into one or more standardized documents. ITGs complete their work in two to three years working closely with committees that will eventually provide a permanent home for the ITG documents. The limited mission and lifetime allows for a more rapid development of standardized documents than is typically possible with regular ACI committees.
